Set up purchase points
- Open Earning rules → Create rule and choose Points for purchases.
- Under Purchase rate, enter Points awarded and Spend per award.
- To set tier rates, select Use VIP tier rates and enter both fields for each tier. Leave both blank for the standard rate.
- Choose Create, then Activate on the Earning rules page.
Points are awarded per payment, in full spending increments, including tax and shipping. For example, Points awarded: 3 and Spend per award: USD 2 gives 6 points on a USD 5 payment. Amounts use your store currency.
When earning starts
Only orders created from first activation qualify. New rules cannot be scheduled or backdated; drafts do not start earning.
Orders placed while the rule is inactive remain excluded after reactivation. The original start date stays unchanged.
Payments, edits and refunds
Points arrive after eligible payments are processed. Later payments on an accepted order use its recorded rate, including any VIP rate.
Edits affect future orders, not awarded points. Accepted orders continue processing payments and refunds while the rule is inactive.

Before going live
Check the rate, activate the rule and test a new paid order with a customer. Allow time for processing before checking their points.
