Edit the complete email
Templates contain a subject and HTML body. Defaults include a responsive layout, preview line, store button, contact details and consent footer. Older HTML fragments are wrapped in the email layout.
Supported content includes presentation tables, headings, paragraphs, lists, emphasis, HTTPS images and absolute HTTP, HTTPS or email links. Unsafe scripts, forms, frames, event handlers and unsupported HTML or CSS are removed.
Use only listed Liquid variables, without tags, filters or expressions. Place
variables in text, or use {{ shop.url }} as a store link’s entire href.
Preview versus test
Preview uses the source draft and sample values. Other languages use saved translations and source fallbacks. The subject appears above the body.
Send test email uses saved content in the selected language and your entered recipient. Save first. Accepted tests count toward usage; previews do not.
Translation warnings
Choose Translate to edit alternate languages in Shopify Translate & Adapt. Keep Liquid variable names unchanged.
Never-translated fields can use source content. Outdated or invalid translations need correction. Reopen the editor to recheck warnings.
Changing the primary storefront language does not rewrite saved source content. Review it in the new language before enabling delivery.
